2007 Schedule Released
The Miami Hurricanes 2007 regular season football schedule was released Wednesday by the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC). The 'Canes have a rough start and end to the season, with road games at Oklahoma in early September and at Virginia Tech and Boston College in late November. Home games against Marshall, FIU, and Duke should provide some relief, however.
I'm predicting a nine win regular season, with a possible ACC Championship appearance for the first time in Hurricanes history. Objectively, however, this could be a difficult year, especially if the 'Canes cannot reestablish their home field dominance.

Nix New OC
The Hurricanes have named Patrick Nix the new Offensive Coordinator. Nix was an assistant coach with Georgia Tech beginning in 2002, and spent three seasons as their Offensive Coordinator. In his first full season of play calling, the Yellow Jackets clinched the ACC Coastal Division.
As a Quarterback for Auburn University, Nix lead the Tigers to an 11-0 season his Sophomore year.
Head Coach with no head coaching experience. Offensive Coordinator with one year of paycalling experience. No Defensive Coordinator yet named. Here's hoping for a quick learning curve.

The Shannon Era Begins
Yesterday's victory over Nevada marked the end of the Larry Coker era and the beginning of the head coaching career of Randy Shannon. Coach Coker finished his head coaching career at Miami with an overall record of 60-15 (80%), making him the third winningest coach in UM football history.
